April's Youth Trek Night

Hope of Israel

April Challenge

Find a pioneer story of service, charity,
or sacrifice.

To help you in your quest, we have included some helpful websites. Find your own ancestor (or another pioneer) to read about and share with your group at the next Trek activity.

Are there any pioneers in your family tree?

See if an ancestor came by boat to America.

Did someone in your past travel with the pioneers across the Rocky Mountains?

Can you find an ancestor who was a missionary in the early days of the church?

There are many stories right in your family tree. There is a chance that any ancestor that lived between 1800 and 1900 joined the church during their lifetime and headed west.  Go to the memories section of those ancestors at familysearch.org.

*Most of the websites have a tutorial about how to find ancestors or pioneers.

Get Outfitted for Trek!

“Do I have to make my clothes; should I borrow; or, where can I buy them?”

You can get your trek clothing by making them, purchasing (new or used), using hand-me-downs, or borrowing from past trekkers. Here are some links and resources for making a plan that works for you. Talk to your friends and parents and start collecting your clothing and other items now. Every person on trek will also need their own 5-gallon bucket.
